Amy, Office Manager/Insurance Coordinator

36 Years In Dentistry!

When I accepted my first job as a dental assistant, I really didn’t have a plan regarding my career path. When I was offered the job, the dentist said she needed an assistant and she’d be willing to train me. I thought, why not? I have teeth, I’ve been to the dentist, I can totally do this. Little did I know that by taking a leap of faith that I would have such an amazing career doing something I love and 36 years later, I still love what I do. Why? Because serving other people is a gift. Dentistry is more than just teeth, it’s about building relationships with people, reconnecting and catching up with a friendly face even if it is only twice a year. And even though it sounds cheesy, helping people maintain, sometimes improve, and in many cases boost their confidence because their teeth look beautiful and healthy is extremely rewarding.

I am an Arizona transplant, Midwesterner by birth, who crossed into AZ in 1994 and never looked back. I root for the Arizona teams, but they don’t let you back into WI if you grew up there and don’t claim the Packers as your favorite team. I have a beautiful daughter and an amazing son-in-law that understands when he married my daughter, he signed up to take care of me in my old age. Reality TV is an addiction, I don’t run unless I’m being chased, but I do like to walk my dog Fitzgerald (named after Larry), forcing my cat to let me pet him and spending any time doing anything with my amazing friends.

Aloha, Dental Assistant

My full name is Shantel Alohalani, I prefer to be called Aloha. Aloha means "Greeter" as most know as hi, goodbye etc. Lani means heaven. Alohalani-Greeter of Heaven. I was Born in Panama City, FL. When I was 7 yrs old, my mother passed, I moved, and was raised in Long Beach, California. This is where I became a dental assistant. I am so happy to be back in Arizona after spending 17 years in Anchorage, Alaska. I have been in the dental field since August 2002 and I am proud to have specialized certifications and licenses in California, Alaska as well as Texas. I have over 22 years of dental experience and make it my priority to give even the smallest kids a great experience. I enjoy being in the dental field helping people maintain and keep a healthy smile. Family time is very important to me. I have four beautiful daughters aged 22, 18, 10, and 3 years old. I enjoy spending all my time with them including sports they are involved in. My oldest is active duty in the Navy, and second oldest is off to college playing basketball. I absolutely love being a girl-mom. My hobbies include doing hair, makeup, and nails. Fun Fact: Aloha says that the reason for her lisp is due to having a long tongue too big for her mouth, but she can touch the tip of her nose.
